What to expect at your dress arrival
YOUR DRESS HAS ARRIVED AT TMB ✨
YAY! 🥂 We have put together a list of common questions to help ease your mind!
What should I bring?
Your dress arrival is a great time to test out what undergarments you want to wear with your gown for your wedding day i.e: Spanx, Threads, My Perfect Pair, Nude seamless thong etc.. whatever you are thinking, let’s try it out!
Your wedding shoes - if you have them, this is a great opportunity to see them with your dress. Don’t fret if not, you still have lot’s of time to find the right ones!
Let’s talk alterations ✨
Your dress arrival is your first time in your gown. Your TMB stylist will walk you through what alterations will be needed so your gown fits you like a glove! After this appointment, you will take your dress home with you and then bring it to your seamstress for the next step - alterations.
When do I book my alterations?
You should book your alterations appointment when you have your ETA for your gown. (You will typically receive an ETA about 2 weeks after purchasing your dress.) This may seem early, but seamstresses are very busy and the last thing you want to be stressing about is not having your alterations booked!
Where do I go for alterations?
TMB has a list of recommended seamstresses and alteration FAQs that we send to our brides - you are welcome to use your own seamstress, but we want to share with you the people we work with and trust.
Let’s talk accessories ✨
There is lots of time to browse accessories in your dress arrival appointment. Whether it is the perfect veil, a set of earrings to complete your look, or even a statement glove or headpiece, your TMB stylist will help you pick out the last few details so you are wedding ready! Sometimes we have accessories that you can take home with you that day; other times we will order a piece from the accessory designer just for you!
Other tips ✨
You are getting into your gown so please be mindful that you want to keep your dress fresh. We don't advise getting a spray tan or using a self-tanner before your dress arrival. Also, keep in mind that wearing too much makeup may transfer onto your gown and that is something we want to avoid entirely!
Calm your nerves and enjoy every moment! This is another big check mark off of your to-do list! One step closer to the big day! 💕🥂✨
