How did you and your partner meet?

We both grew up in Burlington, ON and surprisingly didn't know each other until we met at Jon's favourite place, Burlington Golf & Country Club. I worked long days as a patio server at the golf club for five years off and on through the summer as a university student. Jonny played every day, sometimes twice a day. Let's just say when you see each other that much you're bound to spark a friendship that just may turn into a love story.

Tell us about the proposal?

Jon kept it intimate and I could not be happier. An important part of the proposal is our sweet puppy Tiger. Jon had gotten home from a round of golf and I had just woken up from a midday nap (clearly not expecting a proposal). I gave him a welcome home hug and kiss, Tiger needed some attention as well, as I went to pet and snuggle Tiger I saw something shiny on his collar, the most perfect engagement ring. I turned around in shock and Jon was down on one knee.

Give us an overview of your wedding vision and how it came to life.

From the moment we started planning, we knew we wanted the location of the venue to be close to home, as we have a one year old son and a ton of family travelling in. The vibe we wanted was fresh and minimal and the Art Gallery of Hamilton was the perfect space. The room speaks for itself and the gallery is absolutely stunning. We got married in August, so a must have was access to a patio or garden. The AGH has an amazing indoor/outdoor flow, the room is enclosed in floor to ceiling windows and opens outside to a private sculpture garden. The decor and details were modern and minimal, with floral work from Hamilton's own Thuya Studios. Her work was beyond what I had dreamt. It was perfect. The photography captures the overall feel of just how flawless the day was. Our photographer Inna Yasinska is a master of her craft. Inna captured some of the most intimate and raw moments of the day with ease and grace. Our amazing wedding planner Lexy Marie brought our vision to life, she was an absolute dream to work with. I don't think I had one worry all day because of Lexy, she made the day feel easy and relaxed.

Tell us about your experience dress shopping at TMB.

From the moment I stepped into the TMB boutique I knew I'd be walking out saying "yes" to the dress or dresses in my case. The team is so welcoming and amazing at understanding your style. After trying on a couple dresses I remember saying to my stylist "I'm sorry I'm so picky", she responded back with "it's amazing, you know exactly what you want". From that moment on, I knew she understood my vibe and felt completely comfortable. The team helped me select the breathtaking gown Jane by Katherine Tash for the ceremony and reception and the oh so chic Claudette in satin by Sarah Seven for the afterparty.

What was your favourite moment of your wedding day?

It's hard to choose just one moment because the day was absolutely perfect, beyond what I could have ever imagined. If I had to pick one moment it would be walking down the aisle hand-in-hand with my dad, walking towards Jon and my little one. Seeing two of my favourite people waiting at the altar for me was everything. Oh and the afterparty with our closest family and friends and our incredible band Robbie & Matthew, they know how to party!

What advice would you give to couples planning a wedding?

Enjoy every moment because it flies by. Listen to your heart, plan the wedding you want because ultimately it is YOUR day. Things may happen that are out of your control, breathe and move on - like leaving your bouquet at home, yes I walked down the aisle without a bouquet and I wouldn't change a thing! Take a moment to just take it all in with your new hubby, sit back and look at everyone who loves you.
